Daffodils and Tea please!

I am so bad with surprises. I like to know things. I like to plan. I don't like the unknown. Surprise showers and bachelorette parties don't work for me. My family knows me and is being nice and promise they will tell me when they pick the shower date. They are also letting me pick my theme. They just won't let me know any of the details. Which is pretty fair compromise.

My mom is so excited to help throw the shower, she has already started to plan. She has come home from work quite a few times to tell me she found something perfect for the shower, and she is so excited, but won't give me anything else! She told me I can send her pictures for inspiration, but no promises. She and the bridesmaids get the final say on everything.

When it came to theme, there was only one option: Afternoon Tea. Very classic and my favorite. My friends and I actually go to tea quite often. I just love it. There are so many options for afternoon tea in Boston, we hope to try them all! So picking Tea for a theme was a definite no brainer. The only other item I requested was to have daffodils. In other posts, I explained how special daffodils are to Mr. Newport and I. They are my favorite flower and I wanted to somehow incorporate them into the shower!

To my delight, Kristin at the Treasured Petal wrote a post on WeddingbeePRO, Just For Fun: Flower Pot Escort Cards!, Kristin is one of my favorite WeddingbeePRO bloggers, so of course I had to take a look. I am so glad I did, I immediately sent the post to momma Newport! I think these are the cutest favors/escort cards I have ever seen....and they include daffodils! I don't think we could find anything more perfect for a tea party!

I don't know if they will use them at the shower, but I really hope they do. They are so adorable!
