Our last two DJ meetings turned into wedding planning/date nights. We originally went on vendor meets with my mom, but she has missed the last two DJ appointments. Although I really value her opinion and want to make her a part of everything, I really enjoyed the alone time with Mr. Newport.
Mr. Newport isn't really into wedding planning the way I am, but he does like having say in certain aspects. I really wanted him to know that the wedding isn't just about my visions and childhood fantasies. If it were, we would have a fairytale wedding in a castle and I'd be wearing a big poofy dress with a horse drawn carriage...the works. That just isn't us.
To make sure our wedding is about us and not just me, I made sure the planning is fun for him too. That is how we came up with dinner and a vendor. Everytime we meet with a vendor, we have a nice dinner planned afterwards. The vendors we looked at were throughout RI in all different areas, so we had the chance to try lots of great RI restaraunts, that we wouldn't have otherwise.
We vary options, some times we go fancy, some times low key. It mixes things up and gives us both something to look forward too.
One of our favorite dinner and a vendor spots included Eleven Forty Nine Restaraunt in East Greenwich, RI. We went on a Wednesday night during their special dinner deals. We each had a three course menu of delicious food at $20.00 each.

How did you involve your guy in planning? What were his favorite aspects of the planning process?
