Music Mondays: Father Daughter Dances

Where to begin? There are aso many options for the father-daughter dance. There are lists galore on the internet. If you type in father-daughter dance songs, you will get a lot of hits. The ones I seemed to get the most use out of were WEDAlert and the Wiki on Weddingbee. I actually worked a little on the wiki at Weddingbee during my internship, so I tend to use it for a lot of inspiration during planning.

Here are the songs I noticed on a lot of lists:

  • A Father's Love, by Perfect Wedding Songs
  • All Of My Love, by Led Zepplin
  • Always be Your Baby, by Natalie Grant
  • Because You Loved Me, by Celine Dion
  • Butterfly Kisses, by Bob Carlisle
  • Daddy, by Beyonce
  • Daddy's Hand, by Holly Dunn
  • Daddy's Little Girl, by Al Martino
  • Dance With My Father, by Luther Vandross
  • Daughters, by John Mayer
  • Father and Daughter, by Paul Simon
  • Hero(Wind Beneath My Wings), by Gladys Knight & The Pips
  • How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), by James Taylor
  • I Loved Her First, by Heartland
  • In My Life, by The Beatles
  • Isn't She Lovely, by Stevie Wonder
  • Just The Way You Are, by Billy Joel
  • Landslide, by Fleetwood Mac
  • Little Miss Magic, by Jimmy Buffet
  • Lullabye, by Billie Joel
  • My Dad, by Paul Petersen
  • My Father's Eyes, by Amy Grant
  • My Girl, by The Temptations
  • My Little Girl, by Tim McGraw
  • My Wish, by Rascal Flats
  • Oh How The Years Go By, by Vanessa Williams
  • Song For My Daughter, by Mikki Veirick
  • Stand By Me, by Ben E. King
  • Stealing Cinderella, by Chuck Wicks
  • Sunrise, Sunset, from Fiddler on the Roof
  • The Angel In My Arms, by Wedding Music Central
  • The Way You Look Tonight, by Frank Sinatra
  • Through the Years, by Kenny Rogers
  • Unforgettable, by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole
  • What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
  • When Angels Fly, by Tony Ransom and the Heavanly Light Orchestra
  • You Are the Sunshine of My Life, by Stevie Wonder

Now, I just need to go through and find which ones have lyrics that make sense, and see which ones sound nice.

Where do you find songs for your wedding playlist?

too many choices! I always loved butterfly kisses, but I think a lot of people choose that one.

Im not married or even engaged, but I plan on my father daughter dance being something that means something to my dad. we used to jam together to billy joel and the beatles all the time--so one of those artists.

My Dad chose My Wish by Rascall Flatts - noticed it on your list there...My fiance is a DJ so he did a lot of the song choices!
