A Double Wedding

In March of 08' BIL Newport proposed to Sister Newport, about 7 months later, Mr. Newport got down on two knees and asked me to be his wife.

Newport Dad was ecstatic, so much so that he started coming up with "great" wedding ideas, like the double wedding. Which Sister Newport was totally on board with, I on the other hand was not. I didn't understand how you could make a wedding personal, when you are sharing the day with another couple. I joked with Sister Newport that we'd do the double wedding, if the theme was Mr. and Miss Newport. She didn't really care for that theme.

I was perfectly happy planning our own wedding, when one day, I was looking at our photographer's website and for the first time ever, I cam across a double wedding! It got me thinking about what could have been.

Look how happy this dad is, and the brides are happy too!
It would have been so special to have Newport Dad walk us down the aisle arm and arm and arm.

Some days I wonder what could have been with the double wedding.....

Would you ever consider a double wedding?

Whoa, that's so bizarre! I don't have any siblings but I can't imagine doing this. I did see an episode of Say Yes to the Dress where two sisters considered sharing a dress they both loved (meaning, one would wear it for her wedding, and the other would wear it a few months later at her wedding). They ended up not doing it, which was probably wise!

I don't think I would, but those pictures are gorgeous! They were both such beautiful brides!

I don't have any sisters but if I did I don't think I would do this. I have very specific ideas for what I want and the odds of my ideas matching hers are slim. Plus that's twice the guests and twice the expense.

Wow, this is definitely impressive. I would never do it, but it's very fascinating for sure.

My sister and I are getting married 7 weeks apart and while it's not a double wedding, there are so many times when I feel like it is. Honestly, you get married once (hopefully!). You don't really want to have all eyes look at you for three seconds and then look over at your sister. You want it to be special and all about you!
